Beverly Police Chief Confirms Unexpected Death Of Officer

Beverly police said they were withholding the officer's name until his family can complete making arrangements.

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly police confirmed that a police officer died unexpectedly Saturday at his home. Other details, including the officer's name, were not released in the statement from Chief John LeLacheur Monday.

"The Beverly Police Department appreciate the out pouring of support from those in the community that heard about our loss," LeLacheur said. "Please pray for the officer, his family, and all of the members of the Beverly Police and law enforcement community as we grieve his loss."
