Beverly Preliminary Election: Ames, Silverstein Advance In Ward 3

With just one race in Ward 3, voter turnout was predictably low in Beverly's preliminary election.

BEVERLY, MA — Stacy Ames and Kris Silverstein advanced through Tuesday's preliminary election for the Ward 3 City Council seat. Euplio "Rick" Marciano and Kirstin Shapiro finished third and fourth in the four-way race and will not appear on the ballot in the Nov. 5 general election. Ames and Silverstein are vying to replace James Latter, who is not running for reelection (complete results with vote totals are listed below).

All four candidates said affordability in Beverly was a key issue in the race. Turnout was just 13.52 percent, with only 598 of the 4,525 registered voters in Ward 3 casting votes.
