Beverly Rules On Dogs In Parks Change This Week
Violations will be subject to fines of up to $100 per dog, per offense.
BEVERLY, MA — The puppies of Beverly will be subject to some new restrictions in city parks for the summer starting on Monday.
Beverly Animal Control reminds residents that starting on Memorial Day dogs are limited to certain hours.
At Lynch Park, dogs are allowed only between 6 and 7:30 a.m. and are always prohibited from the Rose Garden.

Dogs are prohibited from all other city parks, playgrounds, tennis courts and beaches between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
There is an exception of one park per ward in the city where dogs are allowed, but they must remain leashed and under control at all times.

In Ward 1, that's Femino Park on Lindsay Avenue. In Ward 2, that's Independence Park, though dogs are restricted from the beach area between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. In Ward 3, it's Beverly Common.
In Ward 4, they are allowed on Cooney Athletic Field behind the outfield fence. In Ward 5, they are allowed in Colgate Park, though not allowed on the playground at any time. In Ward 6, dogs can be in Dix Park, but not in the playground area or tennis courts.
Dogs are not allowed in Beverly cemeteries.
"Please don't forget to be a responsible dog owner and properly dispose of your dog's waste at all times," Beverly Animal Control said. "Please bag it and take it home with you from the parks and dispose of it properly at home."
Those in violation may be fined up to $100 per dog, per offense.
