Beverly Summer Park Dog Restrictions Now In Effect

Starting this week, dogs are only allowed in most public parks at certain times per a city ordinance wit a $100 fine per violation per dog.

BEVERLY, MA — While the summer is a great time to bring man's (or woman's) best friend out and about to enjoy the fresh air and nice weather, Beverly residents are reminded that the summer parks restrictions are now in effect for pups in the city.

As of this week, dogs are only allowed in Lynch Park between 6 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Dogs are prohibited from the Rose Garden area at all times year-round.

In all other city parks, beaches, playgrounds and tennis courts, dogs are allowed before 7:30 a.m. and after 7:30 p.m. They must be on a leash at all times during this hours.

The city ordinance allows for the designation of one park per ward where leashed dogs are allowed from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

These are Femino Park on Lindsay Avenue, Independence Park (with a beach restriction from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.), Beverly Common, Cooney Athletic Field behind the outfield fence, and Colgate Park (not including the playground or tennis court areas).

Residents are reminded that dogs are not allowed in cemeteries at any time.

Fines for violating this ordinance are $100 per dog per offense.

Residents are also reminded to pick up after your dogs by bagging and taking with you any waste.
