Beverly Woman In Viral Road Rage Video Found Not Guilty
Susan Lavoie, 64, of Beverly, was found not guilty after a one-day trial. The Gloucester woman she fought in March is still awaiting trial.
SALEM, MA — A Salem District Court jury found Susan Lavoie, 64, of Beverly, not guilty Monday following a one-day trial. Lavoie defended herself and convinced the jury she was acting in self defense when she and another woman fought on Route 128 in Danvers in March. The dust-up was captured on video by a passing driver, and that video went viral.
Catherine Bergen, 33, of Gloucester, has yet to go on trial. She was charged with assault and battery on a person 60 or older, assault, disorderly conduct, driving recklessly to endanger and stopping or parking on a state highway. According to the Salem News, which first reported this story, Bergen used her Fifth Amendment right against self incrimination to avoid testifying at Lavoie's trial.
