Man Charged After Molotov Cocktails Found in Beckford Street Search

The findings came after a search warrant was executed on Aug. 13.

A Beverly man now faces 25 charges of being in possession of an incendiary device after a search of his Beckford Street home earlier this month found 25 Molotov cocktails, according to a report by WCVB-TV.

The Essex County District Attorney’s office said it charged Stefan Jovic, 23, who was arraigned in Salem District Court on Tuesday, after a search of home car and home on Aug. 13.

The search was prompted after Jovic, who was a psychiatric patient at a Boston Hospital and told hospital workers what he was storing in his car. They called police.

In his Honda Civic, investigators found mason jars filled with gasoline, oil, and a brown substance, according to My Fox Boston. It was not immediately clear what he planned to do with them.

Jovic was held without bail and is scheduled to return to court again on Wednesday.
