Man With No Pants Reported on Old Essex Street

The following is an excerpt from the  log:

Friday, Aug. 16

  • Police were called to Cabot Street on report of a possible domestic dispute inside a vehicle. 
  • Police were dispatched to One Stop on Rantoul Street on report of an intoxicated customer who hit his/her head after falling in the store, at 10:34 p.m. An ambulance was sent. 
  • Police were called to Rantoul Street on report of a suspicious man looking into vehicles at 10:55 p.m. The caller stated she had seen the man enter a driveway across the street from her residence. Police searched the area but did not find the person. 

Saturday, Aug. 17

  • A fight was reported at 31 Elliott St. at 1:09 a.m. When police arrived those involved had left the scene. 
  • A possible domestic dispute was reported in a vehicle on Oberlin Rd. at 1:32 a.m. 
  • Police arrested Christie Marie Perry, 27, of 459 Elliott St., on warrant charges at 12:27 p.m.
  • Police were called to Rantoul Street at 2:37 p.m. on report of a blind male being harassed by two males. Police cleared the scene. 
  • Police were called to CVS on Dodge Street at 4:01 p.m. on report of a female who had been in the store for more than three hours. Police spoke with the woman in question. 
  • Police were called to a Cabot Street business at 4:02 p.m. on report of a suspicious male lurking outside the store, looking in at a female employee. Police advised the store to call back if he appeared at the store. 
  • A child on a bicycle was struck by a vehicle on Chase Street at 4:41 p.m.
  • Police were called to Hillside Avenue at 10:28 p.m. on report of a 'smoking item' on the caller's porch. Police determined a few small firecrackers had been thrown. An area search for the people responsible for throwing the firecrackers was negative.

Sunday, Aug. 18

  • Kids playing basketball on South Hardy Street were dispersed by police at 1:01 a.m.
  • Police quieted a loud party on Washington Street at 1:38 a.m.
  • Police quieted a loud party on Bridge Street at 2:27 a.m.
  • At 6:45 a.m., police arrested Justin Hayes, 23, of 6 Beverly Commons Dr., on charges of breaking and entering for felony, larceny over $250, trespassing, destruction of property, and violation of a city knife/weapon ordinance. Christopher Mazzola, 22, of 880 Washington St. in Lynn, was also arrested on charges of breaking and entering for felony, larceny over $250, trespassing, and destruction of property. 
  • Eight vehicles were reported broken into/vandalized on Elliott Street at 10:13 a.m.
  • At 11:21 a.m., police arrested Jules Jefferson, of 506 Elliott St., on warrant charges. 
  • A hypodermic needle found in a gutter on Bridge Street was recovered by police at 11:39 a.m.
  • Police were called to Rantoul Street at 4:20 p.m. on report of a homeless-related issue. Police said a public sidewalk, as well as two handicapped spaces had been cluttered and obstructed with a makeshift storefront created by two homeless people. The set-up included TVs, electronics, buttons, records, and other items on two large tables, taking up about 30 feet. Police said there was no permit for the "yard sale" and the two were advised to remove all items from the sidewalk. 
  • Police were called to Park Street at 5:45 p.m. on report of an individual panhandling outside a restaurant.
  • Police arrested Matthew Dolloff, 42, of 60 Rantoul St., on warrant charges at 8:24 p.m.
  • An individual reportedly urinated on the sidewalk on Cabot Street, and was found sleeping outside by police at 9:17 p.m. The individual was transported to the hospital. 
  • A bicycle was stolen on Cabot Street at 9:25 p.m.
  • Police arrested Scott Ferguson, 63, of 2 Palmer Rd., following a hit and run on Herrick Street at 9:47 p.m. Ferguson was arrested on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of an accident, and following too closely. 
  • Police were called to Old Essex Street at 9:47 p.m. on report of a man with no pants on. Police searched the area but did not find the man in question. 
  • Police arrested Jason Lee, 34, of 46 Wallis St., at 10:59 p.m. on warrant charges.

Monday, Aug. 19

  • A car break-in was reported on Cabot Street at 9:36 a.m.
  • Police were called to 140 Elliott St. on report of an argument between two people over trash in front of the building at 9:51 a.m.
  • Police were called to Roundy Street on report of another fight over trash at 9:52 a.m. Reports stated a male was canning, and when he was asked to leave a property, he began threatening the woman. Police did not locate the man in question. 
  • Police were called to 256 Cabot St. on report of a man causing a disturbance in front of the building at 3:47 p.m.. Police cleared the scene. 
  • A truck was reported stolen on Rantoul Street at 4:33 p.m.
  • Police were called to Beckford Street at 6 p.m. on report of a group of girls fighting with a group of boys. The scene had been cleared when police arrived. 
  • At 9:39 p.m., police arrested Craig Cowper, 33, of 2 Babe St. in Sabbatus, ME, on charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended license, and possession of a class C drug. 

Tuesday, Aug. 20

  • An individual was reported sleeping in the doorway of Pilgrim Church at 12:29 a.m. Police dispersed the area. 
  • Police were called to the corner of Cabot and Essex Street at 1:17 a.m. on report of a youth vandalizing a vehicle. The caller stated the youth placed a road cone on a parked vehicle and lifted the wiper blades. The caller said he yelled at him and scared him away. Police did not locate the youth in question. 
  • A vehicle was reported vandalized at 8:39 a.m. on Pond Street. 
  • A vehicle was reported vandalized at 10:46 a.m. on Cabot Street.
