We have received state supplied tests, which are designated for Beverly’s economically challenged residents.
Working with key local housing and social service partners, we have begun to distribute these tests. In recent weeks, the city has also moved to secure our own supply of rapid antigen test kits.
Beginning tomorrow, we will make these available to the general public. Tomorrow from 10 AM – 8 PM, residents can go to a drive through site we are setting up at Lynch Park. Please bring proof of residency such as a photo ID or utility bill. Given supplies, there will be a limit of one test kit for individuals and two test kits per household. Each test kit contains two COVID-19 rapid antigen tests.
Pending availability, any resident who goes to the PCR testing at the Senior Center on Wednesday will also be able to show proof of residency and take home a rapid test kit(s). Then, if there are still kits available, we will hold another drive through site this Thursday at Lynch Park. We will reach out with updated information after tomorrow’s activity.
Along with the kits, we will provide an information sheet, with the goal to keep us all safer during this troubling current surge in COVID-19 cases this holiday season.
Further information is and will be available on our city website’s COVID-19 page – beverlyma.gov/657/COVID-Testing.
Again, this is Mayor Mike Cahill.
Please continue to follow public health guidance and stay safe. Thank you, All."
