Weekend Winter Storm Hits Differently Across North Shore

While parts of Danvers saw 9 inches of snow, parking emergencies were lifted early a few miles away in Salem and Swampscott.

The North Shore shaped up as one of the battleground locations across the state for this weekend's winter storm with some areas along the coast receiving very little snow, while those just a few miles inland extended parking restrictions into Monday.

BEVERLY, MA — The North Shore shaped up as one of the battleground locations across the state for this weekend's winter storm with some areas along the coast receiving very little snow, while those just a few miles inland extended parking restrictions into Monday after getting nearly a foot of snow.

"Crews continue to make progress but will need to continue through the night in order to have streets clear for the morning commute," Beverly Engineering Commission Michael Collins said in a robocall to the community on Sunday. "This makes it necessary to continue the parking ban until tomorrow morning at 7.

"We do appreciate your patience as we understand it is an inconvenience. It will be quite cold tonight so watch out for ice tomorrow."
