Forty-five urban emergency response unit members have been in NC all week aiding victims of Hurricane Helene's devastation.

BEVERLY, MA — Search-and-rescue missions continued in rural North Carolina this week after 45 members of the Beverly-based Massachusetts Task Force 1 urban response team were deployed to help victims of the Hurricane Helene devastation.

Massachusetts Task Force 1 provided Patch with these photos of volunteer team members helping rescue residents and their pets, as well as preserve property and belongings damaged or destroyed in the historic storm that is blamed for nearly 200 deaths.
