'Shirtless, Erratic Driver' Transported to Hospital

The following is an excerpt from the  log:

Monday, Aug. 13

  • A pickup truck was reported vandalized on Hale Street at 7:10 a.m.
  • A vehicle and a house on Pickett Street were reported egged at 9:49 a.m.
  • A woman on Dodge Street called police to report that while taking her dog for a walk, an unleashed aggressive 'medium brown mutt with a black collar' attacked her dog at 11:38 a.m. The caller said her dog was not injured, but she wanted the incident on record. 
  • Police were called to Lovett Street on report of a 3-year-old found alone on the sidewalk at 4:09 p.m. Police said her grandmother said she exited the residence before she could lock the door, and police said the situation appeared accidental. 
  • Police were dispatched to Cabot Street on report of possible suspicious activity at 4:21 p.m. Police arrested Jason Beaulieu, 19, of 21.5 Bowditch St. in Peabody, on charges of possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute. 
  • A burglary was reported on Juniper Avenue at 4:41 p.m. Police reports stated two window screens had been cut open in the back of the house. 
  • Police were dispatched to Budleigh Avenue on report of "five loud bangs" at 6:05 p.m. Police did not locate the source of the reported bangs. 
  • Cars were reported keyed on Thorndike Ave at 6:09 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 14

  • At 12:31 a.m. police were dispatched to Rantoul and Federal Street on report of a man in the bushes. He was sent on his way. 
  • At 2:33 p.m. police arrested Carlos Mieses, 45, of 280 Maple St. in Lynn, on warrant charges. 
  • An attempted break-in to a Medford Street home was reported at 11 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 15

  • Police were called to Femino Park on report of two homeless people camping out at 5:58 a.m. They were advised to seek alternative shelter. 
  • At 8:04 a.m. police were dispatched to County Way on report of a 'shirtless, erratic driver.' The driver told police he had ingested Klonopin before their arrival, but could not remember how much. He was transported to Beverly Hospital. 
  • Police were dispatched to Greene Street at 2:15 p.m. on report of an intoxicated person in the street. Police said the female was 'having trouble with her high heels.' 
  • An assault was reported on Simon Street at 4:59 p.m. 
  • A pocketbook was reported stolen at 7:37 p.m. on Dodge Street. The individual later learned it had been dropped in the parking lot when she got out of her vehicle. 
  • Police were dispatched to Lakeview Ave. at 7:38 p.m. on report of someone yelling for help. The area search was negative. 

Thursday, Aug. 15

  • A vehicle fire was reported at 6 Somerset Ave. at 12:03 a.m.
  • Police were dispatched to Courtney Drive at 5:44 a.m. on report of an 'ex-boyfriend banging on the door.' Police discovered the person banging on the door was the person's neighbor dropping off a pair of shoes, not her ex-boyfriend. 
  • A bicycle was reported stolen off of a Bennett Street porch at 7:11 p.m. Another bicycle on the same street was reported missing at 7:23 p.m.
  • Police were called to an Elliot Street residence at 8:01 p.m. on report of a black pig in their backyard. The pig was returned to its owner. 
  • A vehicle was reported vandalized on Gage Street at 8:42 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 16

  • Police were called to Courtney Drive at 12:59 a.m. on report of suspicious activity and possible vandalism. 
  • A woman reported a boy on a yellow bicycle hit her vehicle on Rantoul Street at 11:36 a.m. The woman said she was not concerned about the dent on her car, but wanted to make sure the boy was not injured. Police searched the area but did not find the person in question.
