Body Found In Mattapan Near Neponset Bike Path

There have been 31 homicides in Boston since January, according to the District Attorney's office.

BOSTON — A body was found near the Neponset Bike Path behind the Mattapan trolley Station Monday, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney. State police and transit police were called to the scene this afternoon and photos show investigators interviewing people and collecting evidence.

State Police referred media to the District Attorney's office for comment. Patch has reached out for more information and will update.

At an earlier press conference about a court case in which a high court ruled a Boston judge had no authority to force her to prosecute non-violent protesters, Rollins told reporters she said she'd like to spend more time and resources on violent crimes in the city such as this.

"Let's spend our money, if we can, on solving some of the 31 homicides we've had since I started here; On our nonfatal shooting rate, which is less than 20 percent solve rate and kidnapping, sexual assault, etc," she said.
