Boston Has Second-Best Public Transportation In America? Really?
What have we been complaining about all this time?

Somebody check WalletHub's Charlie Card. The personal finance site dubbed Boston as having the second-best public transportation in America in a study released Tuesday morning.
Boston, which came only behind Seattle in the overall rankings, was second in accessibility and convenience and 10th in public transit resources. The public transportation network was 34th in safety and reliability, and some might say that's generous.
This year has been marred by several notable incidents, including multiple derailments, track fires, major delays and more. In the midst of it all, the MBTA increased fares. Last summer, the MBTA significantly increased prices at some parking lots.

Public transportation is essential in Boston. A report in February said the Hub has the worst rush hour traffic in the country, and a report from the state just last month said traffic has reached a "tipping point."
WalletHub said Boston has the fourth-longest average car commute time as a share of the average public commute time. It also has the most annual hours spent in traffic congestion as a commuter, according to the report.
