Boston Tallies Third Fatal Shooting In Recent Days

A Dorchester double-shooting Tuesday left one man dead, the third killing since Saturday.

BOSTON, MA — Boston police are investigating the city's third fatal shooting since Saturday following gunfire Tuesday night in Dorchester.

The most recent shooting happened near 7:30 p.m. Tuesday along Wilrose Street in a neighborhood between Columbia Road and Geneva Avenue. Police arrived to find two men with gunshot wounds.

One man was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive, the other was pronounced dead at the scene. Police had not released either the victim's name or age as of Wednesday morning. Police did not immediately announce any arrests related to the shooting.

Two other people died on Saturday in separate shootings in other parts of Boston.

The first shooting happened just before 9 p.m. Saturday in Dorchester along Fermoy Heights southeast of Franklin Park. Diva Ayuso, 32, of Sharon, died at the scene after being shot multiple times, police said. No arrests had been made as of Wednesday.

Hours later near 11:30 p.m. Saturday, police went to a Tremont Street address in Lower Roxbury after a report of gunfire. Police found two men wounded at the scene, and one yet-unidentified victim died later at a local hospital. The other victim was expected to survive.
