Global Running Day 2019: 4 Runs To Try In Boston
Wednesday is Global Running Day, here are four routes you could try running in honor of it.

BOSTON — In honor of Global Running Day, thousands are pledging to take part in some type of running activity on June 5 from laps around the block, a long run with friends, or a game of tag.
Global Running Day is a worldwide celebration of running that encourages everyone to get moving.
"It doesn’t matter how fast you run or how far you go—what’s important is that you take part, and how you do it is up to you. Run a lap around your block, take your dog for a long walk, or call your friends for a pick-up game in the park. The important thing is that you have fun being active—and you inspire others to join you," reads the Global Running Day website.
The day began out of New York in 2009 as National Running Day, before it morphed into Global Running Day in 2016, when the mayor of New York declared it as such. The event is now held each year on the first Wednesday of June and hundreds participate.

It may also come as no surprise that a number of running companies are encouraging folks to dust off their sneaks and get in a run, too.
Boston based Saucony is kicking off an Instagram relay race: the Run For Good Relay.
To participate, the company is asking that you run one mile, post a selfie on Instagram and tag 3 friends to do the same with the collective goal to run a cumulative lap around the earth (24,901 mi). For every post tagged #RunForGoodRelay, Saucony will make a donation to their global charity partners.
