BOSTON -- Concerned about what a future might look like amid climate change, thousands of young people took to Boston City Hall Plaza and then marched to the State House with three main asks for legislators: For Charlie Baker to declare a climate emergency, for an approval of the Green New Deal, and for a commitment to the reject fossil fuels.
The strike was organized a group of youth activists all younger than 21, and although the better part of the crowd were younger faces, participants of all ages attended.
The Boston rally was one of hundreds across not only the country, but the world inspired, in part, by Swedish teen Greta Thunberg who is widely urging leaders to do more to combat climate change.
