Truck Storrowed On Storrow, Prompts Lane Closure
And traffic on Soldiers Field Road was backed up on account of a truck and a bridge.

BOSTON — It's well after move in day, but a box truck driver who thought he could make it, hit the train bridge on Storrow Drive westbound, just west of the Bowker ramps, according to State Police. No one was injured, but the right turn lane is closed.
For those of you who are just tuning in, "storrowed" is the Boston term for when a truck that's too tall to make it under a low bridge - usually on Storrow Drive - misses the warning signs and gets stuck underneath, often ripping off the top of truck and or creating a backup on the roadway. In some cases, trucks have been known to flip or roll over.
And there's a marked rise in such happenings around Boston's Sept. 1 move in date, as folks from out of town drive around the city.

For days leading up to Sept. 1, there were digital signs warning drivers of the height restrictions on Storrow Drive. The city of Boston even tweeted out tongue-in-cheek:
"Repeat after us: You cannot drive a moving truck on Storrow Drive. You cannot drive a moving truck on Storrow Drive. You cannot drive a moving truck on Storrow Drive"
