BROOKLINE, MA — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Brookline, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in the Public Schools of Brookline.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

  • Sept. 5, first day for grades 1-12
  • Sept. 5-6, kindergarten Students 1/2 day by assignment
  • Sept. 25, school closed for Yom Kippur
  • Oct. 9, school closed for Indigenous Peoples' Day
  • Nov. 3, school closed for students (teachers report)
  • Nov. 8, K-8 early dismissal
  • Nov. 10, school closed for Veterans Day
  • Nov. 22, K-12 early dismissal
  • Nov. 23-24, school closed for Thanksgiving Break
  • Nov. 30, K-8 early dismissal
  • Dec. 6, K-12 early dismissal
  • Dec. 22 K-12 early dismissal
  • Dec. 25-Jan. 1, school closed for Winter Break
  • Jan. 15, school closed for Martin Luther King Jr. holiday
  • Feb. 19-23, school closed for February Vacation
  • March 29, school closed for Good Friday
  • April 3, K-12 early dismissal
  • April 11, K-6 early dismissal
  • April 15-19, school closed for April Vacation
  • April 25, K-6 early dismissal
  • May 1, K-6 early dismissal
  • May 27, school closed for Memorial Day
  • June 2, high school graduation
  • June 17, last day of school (if no weather cancellations)
