Brookline Announces Veterans Day Ceremony Details
The event will feature guest speakers, clergy, music and awards. There also will be an honor guard, wreath-laying and a moment of silence.

BROOKLINE, MA — The Town of Brookline has announced plans for its Veterans Day programming this coming weekend.
Veterans Day is on Saturday, and the event is scheduled for 11 a.m. that day at the Brookline World War Monument, 333 Washington St.
The event will feature guest speakers, clergy, music, and awards. There also will be an honor guard, wreath-laying and a moment of silence.

Among the speakers will be: Commander Raymond Cunningham, of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Navy veteran Stephen F. Rutledge, VFW Post 864, John VanScoyoc, member of the Brookline Select Board, and State Sen. Cynthia Creem (D-1st Middlesex and Norfolk).
Vietnam veteran and Bronze Star recipient Gregory Taylor, from American Legion Post 11, will lead the "Pledge of Allegiance," and State Rep. Tommy Vitolo (D-15th Norfolk) will deliver a proclamation.

Kristen DeFosse will sing "The Star-Spangled Banner," "America the Beautiful," and "God Bless America," while Kevin McCarthy will play "Taps." Father Johnathan Gaspar, of St. Mary's Church, will give the invocation and benediction.
The honor guard will feature members of the VFW, American Legion, Brookline Police Department, Brookline Fire Department and JROTC.
A Veterans Day collation will be held at the Veterans post immediately after the ceremony, according to officials.
