Brookline Artist Chosen For Attleboro Arts Museum Exhibit

BROOKLINE, MA — A Brookline artist has been chosen to display her work in Attleboro Art Museum’s "8 Visions” group exhibition.
Caryl Hull Leavitt is one of eight juried member artists who were chosen out of over 50 applicants to participate in the exhibition. A figurative painter working from observation and intuition, Leavitt interprets her experiences through patterns, shapes, and color and she favors expression over exact likeness.
Exhibition juror LaiSun Keane, owner of LaiSun Keane Gallery of Boston, carefully reviewed the work of the applicants and narrowed it down to twenty. Two new jurors, Sarah Johnson, Executive Director of Cahoon Museum of American Art in Cotuit, MA and Erik Grau, artist and President of the Piano Craft Gallery in Boston, were invited to choose the final eight artists.

“The museum’s annual 8 Visions exhibition always proves to be a show of provocative and technically sharp artwork,” Mim Brooks Fawcett, Executive Director and Chief Curator, said in a statement. "2022’s class of artists achieve that standard with well-executed collections touching on societal restrictions, pandemic confinement, individuals engulfed in turmoil, and sensitivity to surroundings and memories.”
