Brookline Comics Mecca To Close In Coolidge Corner After 3 Decades

New England Comics ownership cited "rising costs and declining sales" for the closure while saying four other locations will remain open.

BROOKLINE, MA — One of Greater Boston's largest comic book retailers is closing its Coolidge Corner location in Brookline while saying that its four other "viable" locations in Massachusetts will remain open.

New England Comics cited "rising costs and declining sales" for closing the Coolidge Corner spot that opened 35 years ago. New England Comics also has locations in Malden, Quincy, Brockton and Norwood.

"Unfortunately, this has become necessary," New England Comics said in announcing the closure on its website.
