Brookline Farm Offering Free Food To Those In Need This November: Report
The event is in response to the potential stoppage of the federal food assistance program, SNAP.
BROOKLINE, MA — A local farm is stepping up to provide free produce to those in need this November, according to a report from Boston.com.
Allandale Farm will be hosting a free produce pickup program scheduled for the first three Thursdays of the month. The market will be open between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Loring Greenough House in neighboring Jamaica Plain on 12 South St.
The program is in response to the anticipated stoppage of the federal food assistance program known as SNAP that is slated to begin on Saturday, Nov. 1 as long as the government shutdown continues. More than 1 million Massachusetts residents benefit from the program.

According to Allandale Farm leadership, food will be given out to anyone who attends with “no questions asked.”
