BROOKLINE, MA — The Department of Public Health and Human Services is celebrating the 30th year of National Public Health Week beginning on Monday, April 7.

The theme of this year’s edition is called “It Starts Here,” which is inspired by the town's recent completion of a community health assessment and improvement plan that took two years.
Each weekday has at least one main event, starting with Monday’s Public Health Carnival at Brookline High School. The carnival is slated to have a bounce obstacle course, a scavenger hunt, emergency preparedness training, and refreshments.

Tuesday features a guided tour of The Muddy River led by Friends of Brookline Public Health. On Wednesday, the events begin in the evening with a pilates session taught by a Healthworks Fitness instructor at Florida-Ruffin Ridley School’s Auditorium. A half-hour later, the Friends of Brookline Public Health invite residents to their annual meeting at the high school.
