Brookline High School To Reopen Friday After Chemical Incident

As of 3 p.m. Thursday, the building has been deemed safe by Brookline Public Health in consultation with Boston Hazmat.

BROOKLINE, MA — Brookline High School will reopen Friday, Nov. 4 after a chemical incident resulted in early dismissal Thursday, the district said.

As of 3 p.m. Thursday, the building has been deemed safe by Brookline Public Health in consultation with Boston Hazmat, school administrators said. Anyone experiencing eye or throat irritation or other respiratory symptoms should contact their health care providers.

Classes will resume as scheduled Friday, as will Thursday’s extracurricular activities including practices and competitions, , the Fall Play (Puffs), and Race Reels.

Brookline Adult & Community Education (BA&CE) classes will also continue as scheduled.

"We are grateful to our students and staff for their quick evacuation and patience as we worked to evaluate the situation,” the district said in a statement. "We are also thankful for the district and town partners who responded and supported our school community."
