Brookline High School Students Hospitalized Due To Chemical Incident
The school was dismissed early Thursday and at least two students and staff were taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.

BROOKLINE, MA — Brookline High School students were dismissed early Thursday and several were hospitalized due to a chemical incident, the district said in a statement.
Around 11:46 a..m., BHS staff were made aware of a chemical irritant found inside the 115 Greenough St. building near a first-floor bathroom close to the cafeteria and all students and staff were evacuated.
Brookline Fire Department, Brookline Police Department, Public Health officers, and Emergency Medical Services arrived on-site to identify the issue. As of 1:30 p.m. BFD remained on the scene to clear and ventilate the area and check air quality.

Boston Hazmat also responded to the scene to further evaluate the situation.
"In consultation with emergency and public health officials, we are ending the school day early and dismissing all BHS students and staff at this time,” the district said in a statement. "Parents, guardians, and caregivers can pick up their students in front of the 115 Greenough Street campus and should follow the police presence in the area."

School administrators said that at least two students and staff were taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. Their families have been notified.
Medical staff remained on site Thursday afternoon to evaluate and treat individuals with minor symptoms. Parents and guardians will be contacted directly if their student requires specific medical attention or care.
All other PSB schools and school facilities are unaffected. We will update you with more information as we work to resolve this incident.
