Brookline Man Arrested On Child Pornography Charge

Police reportedly found dozens of digital images and videos at the resident's property.

BROOKLINE, MA — A resident has been arrested on charges related to child sexual abuse material, the United States Attorney’s Office announced.

Ariel Torres, 37, was charged with one count of possession of child pornography after his Wednesday arrest. He was reportedly first identified to be a user of an online network known for the dissemination of child sexual abuse material, which was followed by a search of his Brookline residence. According to charging documents, approximately 49 images and 37 videos depicting child pornography were found on two of his devices.

The charge of possession of child pornography provides for a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, followed by at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release as well as a fine of up to $250,000.

Torres is slated to appear in court on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
