Brookline Offering Pet Vaccination Opportunity

The town is providing a clinic with the help of a local animal hospital.

BROOKLINE, MA — The town’s Department of Public Health and Human Services announced an upcoming Rabies Clinic slated for Saturday, March 8.

The department will be assisted by the VCA Brookline Animal Hospital, which is providing vaccination services for the event. Community members are invited to bring their pets and have them vaccinated for $10. They can also have their animal microchipped for an additional fee.

“Rabies poses a danger to the health of humans and animals,” The department said in a statement. “The rabies vaccine has been proven to be the most effective solution in keeping pets and their humans safe from contracting and spreading the illness.”

Pets must be leashed and accompanied by an owner of at least 14 years of age. Cats can receive a one-year vaccination, while dogs have an additional three-year option if prior vaccination proof is provided.
