BROOKLINE, MA — The town’s Department of Public Works announced it will be hosting an Electronic Waste Drive on Sunday, May 4.

The four-hour event will begin at 10 a.m. in the Centre Street West Parking Lot at Coolidge Corner. Community members are invited to get rid of their unwanted personal electronics for free. Accepted items include televisions, monitors, telephones, laptops, tablets, stereos, fax machines, printers, and more.
Up to one trunk-load of items will be allowed per person, and proof of Brookline residency will be required. Brookline has partnered with Good Point Recycling to properly dispose of the items.
“Many electronic devices are composed of toxic materials and heavy metals, so we’re thrilled to be able to offer a free, accessible option for residents to responsibly dispose of these products,” DPW Environmental Health Supervisor John King said.

In addition to this upcoming event, the town’s Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Facility is open every Tuesday between May and October.
