BROOKLINE, MA — A Brookline police officer recently departed from the department to serve in his hometown.

Officer Dylan Diersch accepted a position with the Hingham Police Department earlier this month, Brookline PD announced. Diersch’s Brookline tenure lasted approximately 14 months, as he was first sworn in back on June 12, 2024. The department said returning to his native town was a large influence in the decision.

“During his short time here, he (Diersch) was a respected officer within the department and town,” the department said in a statement. “To our brothers and sisters at Hingham Police, you are gaining a great young officer.”
