Brookline Police Lieutenant Becomes New Carlisle Police Chief

Andrew Amendola has been a Brookline Police officer since 2006 and has moved through the ranks to become a sergeant and lieutenant.

Amendola has received the Brookline Police Military Deployment Medal, the Commendation Bar, The Marathon medal, and was recently nominated for the Medal of Valor for his role in the law enforcement response to the Boston Marathon bombing.

BROOKLINE, MA – Brookline Police Lieutenant Andrew Amendola has become the new Chief of Police for the Carlisle Police Department.

Amendola has been a Brookline Police officer since 2006 and has since moved through the ranks to become a sergeant in 2015 and lieutenant in 2019.

As lieutenant, Amendola helped to grow the department’s officer training program to advance office capabilities and specialty resources and maintained the department’s compliance with the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Program.

He was a founding member of the Sheriff's Response Team and later became the team’s tactical commander. He also founded the K-9 unit.

Amendola has received the Brookline Police Military Deployment Medal, the Commendation Bar, The Marathon medal, and was recently nominated for the Medal of Valor for his role in the law enforcement response to the Boston Marathon bombing.

“On behalf of the officers, supervisors and managers of the Brookline Police Department, I’d like to wish my old partner Chief Amendola all the best of luck and congratulate the town of Carlisle in selecting a remarkable police officer to lead your department,” Deputy Superintendent Russ O’Neil said in a Facebook video.
