Brookline Police Nab T-Mobile Break-In Suspect

Is it connected to Newton, Dedham Verizon store break-ins? TBD, cops say.

BROOKLINE, MA — Police in Brookline have successfully captured the man they believe is behind Sunday's early-morning break-in at a Beacon Street T-Mobile store.

On Thursday, after circulating the above photo of the alleged suspect, police arrested 55-year-old Daniel E. Blodgett, of Hyde Park, charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, larceny from a building, malicious damage over $250 and possession of burglarious tools.

In order to make their arrest, detectives with BPD reviewed footage from the T-Mobile store and worked with the Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC) as well as other local police agencies in an effort to identify the suspect observed on the videos. Additional information was received through the Boston Police anonymous tip line as well as Fox 25 News Crime Stoppers network.

Initially, police suspected this break-in could be connected to similar incidents at Verizon stores in Newton and Dedham. As of Blodgett's arrest, that question remains unanswered and the investigation continues.
