BROOKLINE, MA — The town and its Department of Public Works announced they have received a $100,000 state grant to put toward climate resilience.

The funds were awarded from Governor Maura Healey’s Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness program, and a grant was received from the program’s first cycle in 2022.
According to the town, a use for this grant will be to form a community-based team to continue established climate resilience strategies as well as start new ones.

Completion of this rendition of the MVP grant process will ensure Brookline remains eligible for future funds from the program. The town is also now eligible for a $50,000 acquisition for a short-term Seed Project. The MVP program was founded in 2017.
