Brookline Releases Climate Action And Resiliency Plan
The plan aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

BROOKLINE, MA — The Department of Public Works announced the launch of its Climate Action and Resiliency Plan.
While the plan is far from finalized, it has the goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing climate resilience, and driving meaningful action of short and long-term strategies.
The plan includes an updated greenhouse gas inventory, which details where emissions are originating from. It also includes different adaptation strategies to protect public health, natural resources, and infrastructure.
Director of Sustainability and Natural Resources Alexandra Vecchio said that the establishment of the plan is an important step for the town to achieve its goal of net zero emissions by 2040.
“This plan provides residents the opportunities to shape the future of Brookline and
create a cleaner, healthier, and more resilient community for all,” DPW Commissioner Erin Chute said.
