Omer Neutra was originally believed to have been taken hostage during the attack last year.
BROOKLINE, MA — Resident Tamar Davis Galper learned her cousin Omer Neutra was killed in the Hamas Oct. 7 attacks on Israel after originally believing he had been taken hostage, according to a report from 7 News Boston.
Based on intelligence gathered, The Israeli Defense Force revealed information Monday that Neutra was in fact killed as opposed to kidnapped.
Neutra moved to Israel and joined its army after spending his childhood in New York.
Galper emphasized the need to continue for her cousin’s body to be recovered and returned home so he can be given a proper burial and provide closure to her and Neutra’s other relatives.
