BROOKLINE, MA — Five Brookline residents will be joining a Boston Marathon team of over 300 runners to raise money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Daniel Concessi, Danielle Kuchinksi, Ilan Mizrahi, Natalie Moesta, and Sophia Tiberi are running in the 125th Boston Marathon on Oct. 11 as members of the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge team, which will be participating both in-person and virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Collectively, they are set to raise $5 million for cancer research.

This year marks the 32nd annual running of the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge (DFMC). All of the money raised benefits Dana-Farber's Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research, which supports promising science research in its earliest stages. To date, the DFMC team has raised over $100 million for the Barr Program.

DFMC runners include cancer survivors and patients, as well as family and friends of those who have been affected by cancer. Each team member has a fundraising commitment, but is assisted through extensive fundraising support, training guidance from 1976 Boston Marathon Men's Open Division Champion Jack Fultz, and team training runs. Those who are not time-qualified for the Boston Marathon receive an invitational entry into the race.
