Brookline Restaurant Chosen To Receive $20K From DoorDash
Silk Road Uyghur Cuisine is one of 17 restaurants that were selected to be part of DoorDash's Main Street Strong Accelerator Boston program.
BROOKLINE, MA — A Brookline restaurant has been chased to participate in DoorDash’s Main Street Strong Accelerator Boston program, part of the company’s pledge to empower local communities by supporting entrepreneurship and access for historically under-resourced business owners.
Silk Road Uyghur Cuisine, the only Uyghur restaurant in Massachusetts, is one of 17 restaurants that were selected to be part of the Boston cohort. Each restaurant will receive a $20,000 grant, one-on-one guidance and coaching, and the opportunity to network with other local restaurant owners.
“As we all know, the restaurant industry has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and has had incredible impacts on you,” said Lt. Gov. Karen Polito in a video message congratulating the participants. "The last two years have been made tremendously difficult for the entire small business community, and especially our restaurants.”
