Brookline’s Raul Fernandez Releases Slate Of Community Endorsers
These endorsers include Select Board Member Dr. Miriam Aschkenasy, School Committee Member Mariah Nobrega, & Town Meeting member Chi Chi Wu.

BROOKLINE, MA — On Wednesday, former Brookline Select Board Vice-Chair and current State Representative candidate Raul Fernandez released a slate of community endorsers.
These endorsers include Select Board Member Dr. Miriam Aschkenasy, School Committee Member Mariah Nobrega, Town Meeting member and Brookline Asian-American Family Network Chair Chi Chi Wu, Brookline for Racial Justice and Equity’s Luciana Schachnik, and a number of Town Meeting members and community leaders.
“The elected officials and community leaders on this slate of endorsers power the progressive policy we’ve passed on a local level, and I’m honored that they’re powering my campaign, too,” Fernandez said in a statement. "These endorsers know what it means to show up and fight every day to dismantle systems of oppression — and Brookline is a safer, better-resourced, and more equitable community because of all of them. “We need representation on Beacon Hill that fights for justice and equity with the same urgency that so many of our neighbors in Town do.”

In her endorsement, Chi Chi Wu emphasized Fernandez’s energy and activism during his time in Brookline.
"In his time on the Select Board, Raul has been a transformative leader for Brookline,” Wu said. "His passion, vision, and energy have not only resulted in real, meaningful improvement in our town, he has ignited a wave of civic activism by others, including myself. I can't wait for Raul to do the same on the State level as a Representative."
Mariah Nobrega’s endorsement highlighted Fernandez’s productive tenure on the Select Board.

“Raul is an outstanding advocate for the Brookline community, and particularly our neighbors whose voices too often go unheard,” Nobrega said. “Seeing what he has accomplished on the Select Board — both his vision and how he turns that vision into action — I know he will advance our community's priorities at the state level, for Brookline and beyond.”
Fernandez launched his campaign for State Representative against incumbent Rep. Tommy Vitolo in December.
His other endorsers include State Senator Sonia Chang-Díaz, two-term Brookline Select Board member and 2020 Congressional candidate Jesse Mermell, Brookline School Committee Member Suzanne Federspiel, Brookline for Racial Justice and Equity, the Brookline Equity Coalition, SEIU Local 888, Mass Alliance, Incorruptible Mass, and Act on Mass.
