BROOKLINE, MA — Students and staff of the Amos A. Lawrence School Extended Day Program hosted a walk-a-thon to raise funds for adults living with memory loss and neurodivergent challenges.

Lawrence Extended Day Program members walked throughout town on Wednesday, May 21 while dressed in purple. The money raised will be used to fund the Goddard House Assisted Living’s Opening Minds Through Art Program, which connects residents with trained volunteers through the process of artistic expression and creation. Goddard House leaders also participated in the event. Before the walk, LEDP students participated in a OMA session led by the Goddard House’s Art Therapist Meredith Griffiths. Through this, the students took on the perspective of the adults who it is targeted toward and how they benefit from it.
