Brookline Seeks Candidates For Board Of Library Trustees

The Library Trustees and the Select Board will work jointly to find a person to fill the vacancy until the annual town election in May 2023.

BROOKLINE, MA — The Town of Brookline is seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on the Board of Library Trustees following the resignation of Regina Healy.

The Library Trustees and the Select Board will work jointly to find a person to fill the vacancy until the annual town election in May 2023.

Those interested should submit a cover letter and resume by June 10 to the Board of Library Trustees at librarytrustees@brooklinema.gov or by regular mail at 361 Washington St., Brookline, MA 02445. Candidates must be registered voters of the Town of Brookline.

The Library Trustees will interview the candidates remotely during the weeks of June 13 and June 20. The Select Board and Library Trustees will conduct final interviews at a Joint Convention on June 28 and will fill the vacancy at that time. The Joint Convention will be held via Zoom and the link will be posted on the Town Calendar.

The Board of Trustees consists of 12 local residents who are elected to three-year terms. Trustees work closely with the Director of the Library, and provide oversight of the library budget, services, and policies.
