Brookline Seminar Aims To Educate On The Dangers Of Plastic

BROOKLINE, MA — The town’s Department of Public Health and Human Services is hosting an upcoming seminar about the dangers of overusing plastic.

“The Hidden Cost of Plastic to Human Health - Brookline Responds” is slated to inform the community about what the town is doing to limit the production and use of plastics and in turn improve the environment.

The two-hour event begins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16 at The Public Library of Brookline’s Hunneman Hall on 361 Washington St. A panel of experts and activists scheduled to be featured is led by Director of Global Public Health and the Common Good at Boston College Dr. Philip Landrigan. The night will begin with opportunities for attendees to speak with the experts individually while light refreshments are served. After that, the panel will present community approaches to potential environmental solutions.

In addition to the Department of Public Health and Human Services, the program is also sponsored by the library, Brookline Mothers Out Front, the Friends of Brookline Public Health, Brookline Rotary, Climate Action Brookline, and the Massachusetts Chapter of Elder Climate Action.
