BROOKLINE, MA — The Goddard House Senior Living Facility recently broke ground on a $16.5 million renovation project that will significantly update the 29-year-old building.

Town leadership, state leadership, and Goddard House staff met in Late July in front of the facility on 165 Chestnut St. for a formal ground-breaking ceremony. One of the major features of the project is the creation of the Creative Aging Hub. Goddard leadership describes the hub’s goal as fostering and inspiring creativity through art, music, theatre, and film programs. Other planned upgrades include an expanded dining room, improved kitchen, dedicated art room, beautified outdoor spaces, enhanced staff amenities, and an energy-efficient HVAC system.

“We’ve named this day ‘From Vision to Reality: A New Goddard House Era Begins’ because that’s exactly what we’re doing, bringing to life a bold, long-term vision of what’s possible when a community comes together to reimagine aging,” Goddard House President and CEO Candace Cramer said.
