A driver escaped with only minor injuries after crashing a car into a Hammond Street fence. Brookline police took a photo of the car, which sustained extensive front end damage when it smashed into the stockade-style fence near Pine Street on Wednesday afternoon. If you look closely, you can see the car's side mirror hanging off the fence, a few feet behind the trunk of the car.
