Check Those Tickets: Brookline $100K Lottery Prize Cashed Before Deadline

Tickets sold in Everett and Holyoke are set to expire this week.

BROOKLINE, MA — Massachusetts residents who may have an old Mass Cash ticket hanging around from last fall are encouraged to check them soon after a Boston man cashed in on his $100,000 prize ticket bought in Brookline just two weeks before it was set to expire.

Noel Vasquez of Boston is the winner of a $100,000 Mass Cash prize in the game's Sept. 12, 2023 drawing, claiming his prize just two weeks before it was due to expire.

Vasquez claimed his prize on Tuesday at the Massachusetts State Lottery's headquarters in Dorchester. Vasquez purchased his winning ticket at Sunoco, 545 Harvard Street in Brookline. The store has received a $1,000 bonus for its sale of this winning ticket.

Two other tickets remain outstanding and are set to expire next week.

A $100,000 Mass Cash winner sold in Holyoke on Sept. 4 had the winning numbers of 1-15-22-27-32 and a $50,000 Powerball winner was sold at the Route 99 Smoke Shop on Broadway in Everett.

Mass Cash and Powerball prize winners have one year from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. Lottery prizes that expire become part of the net profit that the Lottery returns to the Commonwealth for distribution to all 351 cities and towns.

Prizes up to $103,000 can be claimed at Lottery claim centers, which are located in Braintree, Dorchester, Lawrence, New Bedford, West Springfield and Worcester. All prizes over $103,000 must be claimed at Lottery headquarters in Dorchester.
