Dorchester Man Charged with Driving with an Open Whiskey Bottle

The following information was supplied by the Brookline Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate convictions.

Brookline Police Officers were traveling northbound on Harvard Street and observed a grey Nissan Maxima on at about 1 a.m. on March 29, 2013.

The officer observed the driver traveling at a high rate of speed, which the officer estimated was over the posted 30 mph. The officer clocked the vehicle from 345 until 487 Harvard Street. The vehicle traveled at approximately 40 mph for the whole distance.

The officer pulled the vehicle over and the officer spoke with driver. The officer ran the driver’s information through the dispatch, which showed that the driver’s license and registration were active. Dispatch also informed the officer that there was an active warrant out for his arrest out of Dorchester District Court.

Officers arrested Reginald Bailey, 25, 64 Bowdoin Avenue, Dorchester, and charged on the strength of the warrant, speeding and traveling with an open bottle of alcohol after officers found an open bottle Fireball Whiskey.
