Five Things, April 24: Wire Wrapped Ring Class

Here are five things going on in town today.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service predicts a rainy morning which will turn into a sunny day with a high of 68. There is a chance of rain in the evening with a low of 48.

2. Wire Wrapped Ring Class: In this class, you will create two rings: (1) a modern ring using a focal bead or button and (2) a ring using a flat stone or bead. We will cover basic wire-working techniques, gauge and tools.

3. Linda Barnes and Daniel Palmer I: In Linda Barnes’ The Perfect Ghost, naive ghostwriter Em Moore is content to sit at the sidelines until her writing partner and occasional lover Teddy Blake dies in an accident at the Brookline Booksmith.

4. Kate Harmon: "Rural Instincts" Art Exhibit Opening: For its Spring exhibition in Brookline, Athan's Café Art Gallery, one of the best venues for contemporary art in Greater Boston, proudly present Kate Harmon “Rural Instincts” a solo exhibition with 18 oil paintings by Brookline artist Kate Harmon.

5. POETRY BROOKLINE: Poetry Brookline is a new project that invites you to create and submit poems, songs, and art about Brookline places or people. Judy Steinbergh, Brookline poet laureate, will be collecting works, by and for those of every age who live, learn, work or play in Brookline, to display on posters and broadsheets around town, and hopefully to culminate in a Poetry Map of Brookline designed as a mural.
