Five Things, April 3: Basics Jewelry Making Class

Here are five things going on in town today.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service predicts a sunny day with a high near 45. The evening will be partly cloudy with a low of 29.

2. Beginner Basics Jewelry Making Class: Gain some hands-on experience to get you started in the wonderful world of beading. Abeille offers a unique beginner experience focusing on two techniques, which will allow you to make bracelets, necklaces and earrings. You will learn about basic stringing materials, tools, construction and crimping techniques to set the foundation for creating bracelets, necklaces and even watches at 6:15 p.m.

3. DANE Kids Hip Hop: Have a child that is interested in dance?  Bring them to DANE, where they can engage in a high energy, choreography focused hip-hop class!

4. Brookline Community Band: The Community Band is meeting in the Devotion School auditorium at 7 p.m.. All instruments are welcome.  

5. David Sheff - Clean (In conversation with Patrick Kennedy): One in ten Americans are dealing with a substance abuse problem. Uncovering the complexity of addiction with compassion, David Sheff (who detailed his son’s harrowing heroin and meth addiction in the bestselling Beautiful Boy) examines established methods of addiction treatment and presents new strategies for recovery which will change the way people look at addiction. He will be joined by recovery advocate Patrick Kennedy at the Brookline Booksmith.
