Fraudulent 'HVAC Inspector,' Alleged Thief Arrested in Coolidge Corner
Police say he's facing several charges in Brookline.

BROOKLINE, MA — A 32-year-old who allegedly posed as an HVAC inspector before stealing from multiple Brookline businesses is in custody Wednesday, police said.
According to police, the man, from Duxbury, repeatedly walked into Brookline and Boston businesses asking to inspect HVAC systems or thermostats. Once inside, police said, he would enter back rooms where employees stored their purses and wallets, stealing cash and credit cards.
In Brookline alone, the string of theft has been ongoing since Dec. 20, striking multiple locations on Harvard Street and Beacon Street.
