Japanese Restaurant Closing Down In Brookline
The eatery's last day is scheduled for later this week.
BROOKLINE, MA — A popular Japanese restaurant has decided to close its doors after nearly 30 years.
FuGaKyu Japanese Cuisine on 1280 Beacon St. is permanently closing its doors on Wednesday, Nov. 5. Owners Maria and Edward Leung reportedly made the decision to close citing “personal reasons.”
“With deepest gratitude, we thank every patron who has graced our tables and shared countless memories with us over the years," the business said in a statement. “This chapter may close, but it marks the dawn of exciting new journeys ahead for our team and family.”

The Brookline spot is the last remaining location of the local chain, with the Sudbury and Lynnfield locations having already closed.
