Legal Threat Causes End Of Brookline Tutoring Program: Report
The Calculus Project will no longer be implemented at Brookline High School.

BROOKLINE, MA — An initiative that aims to improve test scores of African American, Latino, and low-income students has been discontinued at Brookline High School, according to a report from Brookline News.
The program was first implemented in the district in 2009, using summer courses and additional tutoring to help certain students be better prepared for testing. The program’s ending was reportedly caused by a long-term disagreement between the project’s Chief Executive Officer Adrian Mims and district leaders. Mims recently wrote a cease and desist letter to the district to stop the program due to issues between how it was implemented and who was financing it.
