
The following incident report is based on Brookline Police Department dispatch logs for Monday, Aug. 23, through Thursday, Aug. 26. Look for weekend incident reports each Monday and arrest logs each Tuesday on Brookline Patch.

- A woman in her 40s or 50s reportedly slapped an employee at Friendly's in Coolidge Corner around 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 26.
- A Gerry Road resident reported that he had a "sick chipmunk in a shoebox" around 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 24. He was advised to contact "critter control."
- Someone on the 1000 block of Beacon Street reported an opossum stuck behind their apartment around 10 a.m. on Aug. 24.
- A Parks and Recreation employee contact police on Aug. 24 to report a pit bull running around the diamond at Harry Downes Field.
- An older-model Mercedes reportedly struck another car near Harvard and Babcock street around 4:45 p.m. on Aug. 6 and fled toward Boston.
- An ambulance reportedly struck a Jeep in a parking lot off Centre Street and took off on Aug. 26.
- Someone smashed the window of a Toyota parked near Monmouth Court and Monmouth Street sometime late on Aug. 25.
- Around 6:45 p.m. on Aug. 24, a Village Way resident reported that a stranger had opened her bedroom door and left when she screamed, "Who is it?"
- Someone broke into a car on Blake Road and took a credit card between 7:30 and 8 p.m. on Aug. 23.
- A Vernon Street reported that someone had gone into her old apartment on Beacon Street and taken the cable equipment.
- Somone broke into car on Greenough Street and stolen a GPS on Aug. 23 or 24. Break-ins were also reported on Stanton and Clark roads around the same time.
- A Clinton Road resident reported that they came home on Aug. 23 and found several devices turned on and a vase broken in the bathroom. The caller said their family had not been home for several hours.
- A Blackberry phone was left in a Bay State taxi on Aug. 25.
- Two keys with a pink rubber key chain were found in an alley off Harvard Street on Aug. 24.
- Someone told police they left their suitcase in a cab they'd taken from Copley Square to Freeman Street on Aug. 23.
- A set of keys were found on School Street on Aug. 23.
- A "good-looking kids' bike" was reportedly found abandoned on a fence on Milton Road on Aug. 23.
- A green wallet was found on Washington Street on Aug. 23.
- A man with a brimmed hat and blazer reportedly grabbed a Motorola Droid phone from a store on Harvard Street on Aug. 24 and took off.
- A laptop was reportedly stolen from Panera Bread on Harvard Street on Aug. 24.
- A bike was reported stolen from a back porch on the 1100 block of Beacon Street on Aug. 23.
- Police received reports of a man who slammed on his brakes and started threatening a woman after passing her in car near Putterham Circle on Aug. 26.
- A 26-year-old New Jersey woman was arrested on Webster Street on Aug. 24 after a passerby reported a male beating a female at the Courtyard Marriott
